Privacy & site information
This page explains the information collected when you visit Globerance, how it is used and retained, and the sources of this website’s visual assets.
Automatic visitor diagnostics
This website automatically records first-party visitor diagnostics to understand website traffic, investigate technical issues, and protect the administration service. Collection starts when you visit a page; this website does not ask for analytics consent or show a consent banner.
Server records include the time of your visit, page path, referring origin and page path when supplied, IP address, browser user-agent, and accepted languages. Referring query strings and fragments are not retained, and protected administration paths are excluded from referrer records. The user-agent is used to identify the browser and version, operating system and version, browser engine, and device category. IP addresses in the visitor database are encrypted at rest, but authorised administrators can decrypt and view them in the protected administration interface and include them in a CSV export. A keyed hash of the IP address is also used to associate visits from the same network. Encryption and hashing do not make these records anonymous.
When JavaScript runs and your browser makes the information available, additional records include a first-party visitor identifier, language list, time zone, screen and viewport dimensions, pixel ratio, colour depth, logical processor count, approximate device memory, touch capability, cookie availability, colour scheme, reduced-motion preference, connection type, estimated download speed and round-trip time, and WebGL graphics vendor and renderer. Some fields will be unavailable in some browsers.
A keyed diagnostic fingerprint is derived from selected browser and device attributes to associate similar device environments. The service does not use canvas-image fingerprinting, audio fingerprinting, font enumeration, precise geolocation, camera access, or microphone access. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are recorded when available; they do not disable collection in the current website configuration.
Cookies and administration security
The globerance_visitor_id first-party cookie stores a random visitor identifier for up to 180 days. It is used to associate visits from the same browser. Blocking cookies prevents this cookie from being stored, but does not stop server-side page records or JavaScript diagnostics that your browser permits.
The protected administration interface uses a separate HttpOnly session cookie for signed-in administrators, with an eight-hour session lifetime. Security audit records include login-page visits, successful sign-ins, unsuccessful attempts, and rate-limit events, together with time, encrypted IP address, entered username when applicable, and browser and device information. Passwords entered at sign-in are not stored in audit records.
Retention and access
Visitor records and administration security records are retained for 180 days. Expired records are removed by an hourly cleanup process and when the service starts. Access to visitor records, decrypted IP addresses, exports, and record deletion is restricted to signed-in administrators. Exported files are separate copies and are not removed by the database’s automatic cleanup.
Private recovery snapshots of the visitor database and its matching encryption configuration are taken daily on the website server. Up to seven daily snapshots are retained, so a deleted record may remain in a recovery snapshot for up to seven days. Snapshots are restricted to server administrators and are not accessible through the public website or the visitor administration interface.
Separate operational error logs may contain network addresses and request details needed to diagnose service failures. These logs are accessible through the server’s operational controls, rather than the visitor administration interface, and are separate from the database’s 180-day retention process.
For questions about this collection or to request access to or deletion of information associated with your visits, email inquire@globerance.com. Include the approximate date and page of your visit so the relevant records can be located. Do not send passwords or other sensitive information in your request.
